Tamekia Fitzgerald Bennett, is a native of Quincy, Florida, a relatively short drive from her home in Tallahassee. She is the daughter of the Late Horace Roosevelt Fitzgerald, Jr. and Brenda Jackson Fitzgerald. After high school Tamekia, or Meka or T. Bennett, as she is called by friends, graduated from James A Shanks in 1994, and afterwards attended the University of Florida where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication from the College of Journalism and Communications, with a minor in English. Tamekia started working with the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists in 2000, she is current the Operations Director, and has enjoyed all 18 years of her career. She is married to her husband of ten year, William J. Bennett, and has two sons, JaCoby (11) and Brayden (6). Tamekia has one sibling, Tangela Fitzgerald.
Tamekia is currently The Nett’s Assistant Secretary, Century Choir Secretary, Assistant YPD Director and Nett Praise Dancers choreographer. She loves her church, and as you can see, loves to be involved.
